DAY 1

Our flight landed Dubai International Airport late evening. A car already waiting for us once we exit the arrival hall to bring us to our hotel, Hawthom Hotel at Deira City. The airport is actually located nearby the town, and the journey to our hotel only took 30 minutes ride. Its already 7pm when we reached the hotel. After smooth check-in, we refresh ourselves and have a short rest after 8 hours of flight.

At 8.30pm, we went out searching place for dinner and at the same time, searching for a local travel agent to arrange for our sightseeing. We walk and walk until we found a small mall and decided to have our dinner at the food court there. We know that arabian food portion is quite big, so we only buy 2 set of meal to be shared within 3 of us. We bought 2 plate of kebab and rice and we are also given their local bread for each meal. We was very full after the big meal, and as it is still early, we decided to continue our search for the local travel agent that identified by Miss You. We walk and walk for almost an hour, until we reached the end of the main road. Disappointed because unable to find the travel agent, we decided to return back to the hotel and continue our search the next day. It is almost 12night when we reached the hotel.

DAY 2

After having early breakfast at the hotel, we started our day by exploring the surrounding area by foot, while searching the travel agent that been identified by Miss You. Our hotel is actually located at the city center of Deira, at Al-Rigga Road. The first impression of Dubai city was exactly what I’ve been thinking off, constructions, buildings, and hot weather. There is construction everywhere and the air was quite dusty and hot. I began to notice that most of the people that I met at the roadside was foreigner. The heat was really killing us. I don’t sweat, but I really feel thirsty and ended drank 2bottle of water before we found the travel agent office almost 2hours later. The travel agent office was actually located just nearby the hotel, but we had been walking the opposite direction and make us walk in the big circle. Hehehe.. After seeing the land tour package offered by the agent, we decided to take 4 tours arrangement, dhow river cruise dinner at night, on the next day breakfast at burj al-arab and dessert safari and 1 day trip to Abu Dhabi with lunch at Emirates Palace on our fourth day. The travel agent even gave us 1 free tour to choose for and we decided to take the Dubai City Tour and requested for the tour later in the afternoon after 2pm. We were told that for every tours, a driver will pick us and drop us at our hotel or any location that we request for. After settling the payment, we walk back to our hotel by 11am.

It was still early for our City tour, so we decided to take a taxi ride to the nearest famous shopping mall at this area, The Deira City Shopping Complex as recommended by the hotel receptionist. The shopping complex is actually just a 15minutes ride from our hotel and quite big. We love to see the wide variety of shops available here, I personally was excited to see the outdoor shops here. Their outdoor shops was big with lots of outdoor equipment, everything from clothes, shoes to equipment. After two hours of window shopping, we went back to the hotel for our city tour.

We just hanging around the hotel lobby when a driver arranged by the travel agent arrived, at about 3pm. Firstly, he bring us to Bur Dubai area. We first stop at Dubai Creek area to snap some pictures, and after that went to visit Dubai Museum. We spent about an hour there before we went to visit the nearby Gold Souk. I was very excited to see the whole area here was full with shop and stalls selling gold and jeweleries. The jeweleries sold here in variety shapes and sizes and I was told that gold in Dubai is it quite cheap compared to jeweleries in Malaysia. After that, the driver drove us  along the Jumeirah Road towards the Palm Island. Along the way, the driver give us some brief description of Dubai area. I already forgotten the driver’s name, but I still remember that he was from Pakistan. He told us that the Jumeirah road area was the residential place for rich local Dubai people. We did stop to snap pictures of the Jumeira Mosque and also stop for half an hour at a shopping mall that I’ve forgotten the name. I was very excited when we reached the Jumeira Beach, as I could see the Burj Al-Arab from just nearby. I feel really happy to see the Burj Al-Arab building for far and more excited to go there the next day. We spend few minutes by the Jumeirah Beach to snap some pictures with the background of the Burj Al-Arab. After that, the driver drive us to the visit the Palm Island, the man-made island shaped like a palm tree. I was quite surprise to see such development built on the island. We stop for photo snapping session at the Atlantis Hotel at the end of the Palm Island facing the sea. We ended the city tour by driving back to the city through the Syed Zayed Road that fill with modern highrises on the both sides of the road.

The driver drop us at the Dubai Creek for our second tour arrangement, dinner on the traditional dhow cruise. Boats lighted with decoration and lighting was queuing along the yard waiting for the tourist. We went onboard on one of the dhow and choose to sit on the top floor for better view. About 30 minutes later, the dhow cruise started to leave the dock yard towards the middle of the dubai creek. While cruising, we ate the buffet dinner served in the middle of the boat, while admiring the view on the both side of the creek. However, we did not enjoyed the experience that much because we were too tired from the sightseeing earlier and we were still not used to the weather here. We also found out that the food was just average. The dhow cruising towards the Shindaga Tunnel and return back to the yard which took more that an hour journey. The driver already waiting for us when we arrived at the yard dock. The driver sent us back to our hotel. Due to the tiredness, we straight went to bed once we reached our room.

DAY 3

We woke up early in the morning for our arrangement to breakfast at the Burj Al Arab.
